Gamers are undecided whether the prospect of The Elder Scrolls VI being playable is a cause for celebration or annoyance.
After all, fans have been waiting a long time for so much as a whiff of news regarding the game, especially concerning its launch date. Bethesda has already admitted it jumped the gun revealing The Elder Scrolls VI too early, leaving fans feeling “kind of angry”.
Consequently, knowing that the game is playable right now, albeit in a very watered-down form, is a hard pill to swallow when we’re aware that its release date is so far away it’s almost “unfathomable”.

Earlier this week, gamers celebrated 30 years of The Elder Scrolls series; Bethesda posted a celebratory image that mentions the history of the series, and what’s to come. It’s from this brief remark that speculation has gone into overdrive regarding the current state of the new game.
As far as some are concerned, “One of the main takeaways from this [post] is that the game is, in one way or another, playable now.”
But being playable and being ready are two very different things, as another fan was quick to point out, “Starfield was in a playable state in 2018, so don't put too much into it,” they posted back to the OP. From here, others spoke of taking the playability of the title with a “massive grain of salt”. However, some aren’t listening to that advice.
The real question is whether the next The Elder Scrolls can top Skyrim
In fact, some gamers believe the game will launch in 2027, which, as far as we can see, is a ridiculously optimistic launch window. With the PlayStation 6 barrelling towards us, it’s quite possible that The Elder Scrolls VI will be a game for next-gen consoles, not current ones – it’s a revelation that’s leaving fans horrified.

Still, while we need to keep calm and remember that this will be a lengthy process for all parties involved, it’s still “cool” to know the game has progressed so much. The last time we heard about it “it wasn't even playable”, so to see some form of positive update is a relief, and proof the game is coming, albeit very, very slowly.
