Fans of Pokémon and Minecraft should keep an eye on the upcoming creature-capturing RPG, Portal Fantasy. The indie game combines creatures, quests and crafting to bring a fresh spin to the beloved genre.
Portal Fantasy tasks players with creating worlds for others to explore which can then be used to craft lands, set traps and design epic adventures as your role as an Architect. On the other hand, as a Hero, you will be able to solve quests, explore realms and find creatures to capture. The turn-based combat will be reminiscent of Pokémon, allowing you to capture the creatures whilst the building and crafting elements will remind you of classics such as Roblox and Minecraft.

“It has been 2000 years since the War of the Goddesses - Ravenna is dead, and the Pyli Kingdom has become prosperous once again”, reads the official Steam synopsis. “Or so it seems. Without warning Porbles, the ancient magical beings which inhabit the Wilderness, have started to turn on humans. Chaos reigns everywhere outside the capital. Enter a world teetering on the edge of chaos as you take up the mantle as a Hero, an adventurer with the power to tame Porbles, or as an Architect, a magical being able to create worlds. It is up to you, brave wanderer, to solve the mysteries of the Kingdom.”

An epic story campaign will see you explore vast lands, meet interesting denizens and amass your squad all whilst creating the world that you want to see courtesy of a dynamic map editor. Once you have created your squad, you will be able to take on others in battle with a choice between six different elements and over 150 skills.
Additionally, Portal Fantasy will feature a multiplayer mode, allowing you to dive into co-op quests and PvP duels. "We’re massive fans of pixel RPGs and always wanted to make one where anyone could easily create their own levels”, the developers say. “Over the last couple of years, we’ve poured our hearts into making this a reality and we hope you have as much fun playing this game as we’ve had making it!”
Portal Fantasy is yet to receive a release date but it is available to wish list on Steam now.
