While you’re waiting for GTA VI to release next year, why not take a look at this fantastic Steam police game.
The Grand Theft Auto games see players take part in an assortment of crimes, from armed robbery, residential destruction and the more obvious one, grand theft auto, though this Steam game will put you on the other side of the law as an officer.
Take a look at the trailer for GTA VI below.
Contraband Police is a 10/10 rated Steam game, with a description that reads: “Take over the duties of a border guard inspector in a communist country of the 80s. Smuggling, corruption and forgery are the order of the day here. Be vigilant and earn the respect of your superiors.”

As it says on the tin, you’ll make sure nothing is being smuggled through your border and if anyone even tries, it’ll be up to you to bring them to justice.
It’s a stark contrast to the run and gun shooting of the Grand Theft Auto games, though to be fair in several entries in the series, you could become your own detective if you hijacked one of the police cars, as you’d then be able to tune into the police scanner and help out with a number of crimes.
It could be just the thing to pass the time until GTA VI comes out, which releases sometime in 2025 though an exact date is yet to be shared by Rockstar Games. As for Contraband Police, you can either buy the full release, or if you’re not sure the border guard life is for you, you can sample the game via a free demo on Steam.
If the latest leaks and rumours for GTA VI are to be believed, it’ll be the biggest game Rockstar has ever developed, but it will let players become a border officer? That’s the real question.
