Whenever Steam ushers in a new event or festival, it’s always accompanied by a wealth of demos and free trials, allowing you to try out games before snagging them at reduced prices.
The latest festival, which is running from 21 April through to 28 April, doesn’t have the catchiest name or theme, but it is providing plenty of new demos to download from Steam and while away the hours.
Arranger is a gem worth your time in this Steam sale
Steam’s Box-Pushing Fest, is highlighting a collection of games that centre on puzzle-solving mechanics, usually using boxes to work out the solutions.

You can expect games like Arranger, which I reviewed a while back, and really enjoyed as it combined some RPG story-telling, with some fiendish puzzle solving.
There’s also Kine, which is, hands-down, one of the best puzzle games I’ve ever played, and focuses on moving instruments around environments, to tell the story of a struggling band trying to hit it big.
Death Squared is a traditional puzzle game of moving blocks and finding answers, but this one can be played with a friend, as it features co-op throughout.
These games, and many others found on the Steam page for the festival, feature demos that can be downloaded for free.

Once you’ve played them, if you had fun, it’s an easy purchase with many of the games being heavily discounted, some up to 90% off.
These may not be the most well-known games, but if you’re a puzzle enjoyer, you’ll be spoiled for choice with plenty of cute and adorable entries, like Prickle, which has you playing as a hedgehog bringing his kids back home.
Patrick’s Parabox is another highlight, that riffs off of boxes within boxes, kind of like a Boxception, where your mind will be tied in knots with the complexities of delving deep through layers and layers of levels.
