Uncharted 5 fans are already heartbroken over the Naughty Dog game that might not ever come to be.
Few would question someone saying that the Uncharted series from Naughty Dog is one of the best properties of the PlayStation brand since making its debut on the PS3 in 2007 with Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune. So it’s understandable why fans are eager for Nathan Drake and his loyal crew to make a triumphant return.

However, not taking into account remasters, the last game in this beloved Naughty Dog series was Uncharted: The Lost Legacy, a 2017 spin-off to the fantastic Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End on the PlayStation 4.

It’s now fast approaching a decade and there seem to be no official signs that we’ll be getting a new Uncharted game anytime soon. If this remains the case, by the time we reach the next generation, the PlayStation 5 will have the unfortunate claim of being the first generation since the series launched not to have a new Uncharted game.
At this point, as much as I’d love to see it, I’ve pretty much accepted that we’re not getting a new Uncharted game on the PlayStation 5.
That’s unless the new Naughty Dog game teased by Troy Baker who played Joel Miller in The Last of Us, is a new Uncharted, after all, he also plays Sam Drake in Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End and The Lost Legacy.
Regardless, fans are still understandably heartbroken at the prospect of not getting Uncharted 5 anytime soon.

“When Uncharted 5 is still not announced,” said Redditor sKullsHavezzz, sharing a gif of Nathan Drake from Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception looking utterly dejected.

“I’m not anticipating it anytime soon, Uncharted 4 was a perfect ending and The Lost Legacy was a nice bonus,” said Ghidorah_Stan_64. By the way, The Lost Legacy does leave the door open for Troy Baker’s character, Sam Drake to return. Just saying.
“I agree that Uncharted 4 was a perfect ending but The Lost Legacy felt like it was set up for more. Now it feels like there’s a void that needs to be filled,” replied a disheartened DominatorDixon.
“Uncharted is over, let's be real. This is the Naughty Dog way. They're moving on,” claimed GurpsK. Sorry, I may be over-optimistic but I refuse to accept that Sony would decline more Uncharted video game money.
“I truly miss the Uncharted series and wish just as much as anyone that a fifth game is in development. That being said, I’m excited to see what new project Naughty Dog has cooked up,” said Rallye_Man340.

While we attempt to mend our broken hearts, we can play the entire Uncharted saga (apart from Golden Abyss) on PS5 and PS4 right now.
