As a result of its success, the show was inevitably confirmed for a season two and although we are yet to receive a release date, we do know that filming is already underway after being delayed during the 2023 Writers Guild of America strike.
With our cast already confirmed, including The Last of Us Part II’s Abby, Dina, and Jesse, with Bella Ramsey and Pedro Pascal reprising their roles as Ellie and Joel respectively, the second season is set to be another epic adaptation.
Following the events of The Last of Us Part II, the show’s second season will see Naughty Dog’s interpretation of Jackson and according to a recent set tease, the mock-up Jackson may just be the current scene of filming.
This news comes courtesy of one user over on r/ThelastofusHBOseries who said: “They are filming season two where I live (Squamish/Britannia Beach). I poked in with my drone and took some shots!”

Alongside the post, we see four images of the built-up set and eagle-eyed fans were quick to work out that this must be Jackson.
One said: “Definitely Jackson. There's a stable near the wall of the gate, and the architecture matches.”
It is unclear how far the team are into filming but needless to say, fans will definitely be ready to dive into the second season when the time comes. Even though we are all also secretly dreading it.
