This new content should be a joyous time for fans of The Last of Us, but judging by community feedback, you might want to hold back from downloading the update anytime soon, at least until Naughty Dog issues a fix.
As reported by Push Square, when playing the story campaign, players are reporting that gun holsters and more have been removed for the two main playable characters, Ellie and Abby.
In a post-apocalyptic world full of ravenous cordyceps infected, if you’re not able to wield a gun, then you’re as good as dead. Oh, and this bug makes The Last of Us Part II Remastered practically unplayable.

“Why did you guys remove the holster and some upgrades?” asked Twitter user Sachin C. “Not good, Naughty Dog.”
I get why Sachin C is annoyed, I would be too. But to be fair to Naughty Dog, I don’t think holsters and upgrades were removed deliberately, and it's a result of an unforeseen bug (I assume).
“Has anyone else encountered a bug after the update on New Game Plus with missing upgrades from the skill tree as well as missing long and short gun holsters?” exclaimed raidenisei.
“The latest patch has broken our game on PlayStation 5, it's taken away all our gun holsters, weapon and character upgrades as well as skins for weapons and characters,” tweeted a frustrated MOMSENxTPR.

“Thanks for not testing this ‘patch’. Now all my holsters, skills, and upgrades are gone and I don't have enough parts or supplements to even get close to where I was,” said DeadBoyRichie.
Hopefully, when Naughty Dog deploy a new update to fix the recent update, it will not only return missing features but all the content unlocked by gamers.
The Last of Us Part II Remastered is out now on PC and PlayStation 5.
