The Last of Us’ second season will soon premiere on HBO, on 13 April to be exact, and I feel like Mariah Carey or Michael Bublé defrosting before Christmas.
That is to say, I am very excited, but I’d also love to know what’s happening with the video game series.
Despite recent comments made by series creator Neil Druckmann, I’m pretty confident that The Last of Us Part III is on the way and that’s without taking into consideration the word of insiders.

From a story perspective, Part II appeared to set up a final chapter - particularly with Abby reuniting with the Fireflies.
And, of course, the huge appetite for the game is going to appeal to Sony from a financial perspective.
But there are some interesting tidbits beginning to emerge from insiders, with DanielRPK arising with the latest tease.
ICYMI: Check out season two’s latest trailer below.
Shortly after Druckmann recently advised fans not to expect another game, DanielRPK spoke out saying that he knew for a fact that the game was indeed in production with motion capture already underway.

Well, he’s now provided some additional details.
As reported by ComicBook, DanielRPK revealed on his Patreon that The Last of Us Part III will seemingly feature a group of survivors taking shelter in a large Victorian house on the outskirts of a major city.
The group is supposedly made up of a leader known as Val, as well as Gracie, Mason, Ezra, and Lucas.
From the sounds of it, Mason wants to take control of the group, with DanielRPK adding that Ezra in particular is forced to address who his loyalties lie with.

Lucas will reportedly “develop a relationship” with another scavenger, experiencing an eventual “turn that shows his dark side”.
I’m going to hazard a guess that either Ellie or Abby ends up crossing paths with this group.
I’m inclined to think it’s Ellie as we know Abby is with the Fireflies on Catalina Island and I can’t particularly see her leaving that refuge personally.
This all being said, there’s no way to test the accuracy of this leak at this moment in time so I do have to urge you to take this information with a huge pinch of salt.

I fear plenty of patience is going to be needed.
Naughty Dog is currently focused on Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet which isn’t expected to launch any sooner than 2026.
I can’t see The Last of Us Part III being announced prior to that.
