It’s always nice when we get some bonus free video games with Sony’s PlayStation Plus subscription service. Well, when I say “free video games” you have to pay the subscription fee of course, but you get my drift.
The full list of the games included in the PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium tiers hasn't been announced by Sony just yet. However, we do know of at least two games that will be included in both tiers, one of which is a day-one launch and the other is a recent indie darling. The two bonus games are in addition to the titles included in PS Plus Essential April 2024 available now with Immortals of Aveum, Minecraft Legends and Skul: The Hero Slayer.
Check out the Tales of Kenzera: ZAU trailer below!
The day-one release that we speak of is the ‘Metroidvania’ RPG, Tales of Kenzera: ZAU, developed by Surgent Studios and published by Electronic Arts. The other is the critically acclaimed, Dave the Diver.
Advert
In our 2023 review of Dave the Diver on Nintendo Switch, we said: “The game’s central loop of exploration and fishing in the day followed by an evening of restauranteering makes it perfectly suited to Nintendo’s handheld as a cosy pick-up-and-play game. A definite must-play, which is really saying something given how many must-plays we’ve already had this year.”
As for the yet-to-be-released Tales of Kenzera: ZAU, the synopsis reads: “Wield the dance of the shaman. Reclaim your father’s spirit. A grieving boy begins to read a Bantu tale written by his late father. Adventure into the beautiful and treacherous lands of Kenzera as Zau, a young shaman who bargains with the God of death to bring his Baba back from darkness.”
If you’re yet to play Dave the Diver but have been tempted to, and you subscribe to PS Plus Extra and Premium, soon will be the perfect opportunity to do so. What’s more, judging by its gameplay trailer, Tales of Kenzera: ZAU looks like it’s a lot of fun too.
Dave the Diver will be available via PS Plus Extra and Premium on Tuesday, 16 April and Tales of Kenzera: ZAU a week later on Tuesday, 23 April. Hopefully, Sony will announce the remaining titles in each of the two subscription tiers within the coming days and we’ll let you know when that info drops.
