January is already considered a bleak month, yet PlayStation Plus has found a way to make it worse.
In news nobody wants to hear, January 2025 will see PS Plus start the new year on rocky ground.
We could argue it’s always walking a very fine line between amazing or shockingly bad, but that’s a discussion for another time.

Although we only have predictions about which games will join the PlayStation service, we have confirmation of the titles leaving.
Prepare yourselves, because there's some bangers on this list.
For newcomers, a brief taste of what to expect in Life is Strange
The games that’ll be leaving the subscription are:
- Resident Evil 2
- Life Is Strange
- Life Is Strange: Before The Storm
- Just Cause 3
- Just Cause 4 / Reloaded
- Street Fighter 30th Anniversary Collection
- Legend of Mana
- Secret of Mana
- Dragon Ball FighterZ
- Hardspace: Shipbreaker
Arguably, it’s the loss of RE2 and LiS that’ll hit gamers the hardest.

For those looking to play Life is Strange: Double Exposure, you really need to play the first game to understand what you’re getting into.
We don’t have an exact date for when they leave, though we can estimate it’ll happen around mid-January to coincide with the new titles joining the service.
Even though we’re not ready to say goodbye, 11 new free games have been added that you can play over the Christmas period.
All’s not lost!

Furthermore, there’s a “beautiful” free game that gamers are urging PS Plus users to check out before it disappears from the subscription for good.
In short, while the January PS Plus lineup isn’t looking hot right now, there’s still hidden gems to be discovered if you know where to look.
You still have a few weeks left to play the aforementioned titles, but you need to act sooner rather than later if you’re going to make the most of them.
Hopefully, the games joining the service will make these losses seem worthwhile... somehow...
