Now, a new game coming out this week has already shot up to first place in the list of highest-rated games of the year. What's more is if you have a subscription to Xbox Game Pass or PlayStation Plus, you'll be able to play it from day one.
Blue Prince, from developer Dogubomb, is a puzzle game where you forge your own path through a mysterious manor. Each room features different clues, puzzles, and challenges that you must overcome in pursuit of your goal.

It's a game that has been described as being about the joy of discovery in the same vein as Outer Wilds and Return of the Obra Dinn. We shouldn't really spoil any more of it, as it's something you need to go and experience for yourself.
Our own Ewan Moore had high praise to say about Blue Prince. In his review, he called it "an endlessly captivating labyrinth of twists and turns, with a world that will crawl inside your head and refuse to leave until you’ve finally wrestled its final secrets into submission."
Other critics are giving Blue Prince similar praise, so it's no wonder the game has become the highest-rated game of the year.
Sitting at a whopping 92 on Metacritic, it looks like it's going to have to take something phenomenal to overtake it (GTA 6, the floor is yours).
