If you haven’t yet tried Bongo Cat, it may be time to because this free-to-play delight is taking over Steam.
Developed by Marcel Zurawka and published by Irox Games, Bongo Cat is a game that’s very simple in its premise.
Essentially, Bongo is desperate to get his paws on some new hats and to do that, he needs you to use your computer.

“Every time you press a key, Bongo cat will punch your taskbar. Type, click, play, work to collect more points. Which hats will you find?” teases the game’s synopsis.
As I said, it’s a straightforward premise.
Bongo is described by the developer as “a friend while working hard”, and there are multiple categories of hats you can nab.
Common hats have a 90% drop chance, while uncommon have a 9.5% chance.

Rare sits at 0.049%, epic at 0.01%, and legendary at one in 500,000.
The Last of Us season two is officially now underway. Did you catch the premiere episode?
Bongo Cat is proving a hit on Steam.

At the time of writing, there are over 100,000 players live in-game, with an all-time peak of 134,411 set just yesterday courtesy of SteamDB.
In the last 24 hours, that places Bongo Cat as the 12th most played game on Steam, sitting ahead of Stardew Valley, Rainbow Six Siege, EA Sports FC 25 and more.
The game has ‘Overwhelmingly Positive’ reviews on Steam too.
“Didn't expect to love it so much! Absolutely love it. 100% recommend it for those who spend their time typing a lot,” wrote one player.

“It's a nice background typing counting game. It can continue counting even [when] I'm doing my assignment or playing games on Steam. And those accessories are so cute too. I hope the game will continue updating and add more decorations or features in it,” added another.
Well, I’ve got plenty more typing to do today; I better download my own Bongo.
