PlayStation gamers have been warned that they might be sitting on free store credit and time could be running out to spend that freebie goodness.
Sony launched its free PlayStation Stars program in 2022 which would gift gamers with reward points for mostly just playing video games. Let’s be honest, that’s pretty much a win-win kinda deal. To take part in PlayStation Stars you must first sign up for the free program and then download the PS mobile app to get started.

Once you download the PS mobile app, you can earn reward points by completing easy quests such as playing a select game or acquiring a certain Trophy. Those points can be redeemed against digital collectables (not NFTs) to display on your digital app profile such as the free Final Fantasy VII Rebirth download. You can also redeem points against select video games or digital currency such as EA Sports FC 24. Better still, points can also be redeemed against either £5 or £20 PSN Store credit.

Granted, it may take a while longer to acquire the £20 credit, but if you make sure that you complete the easy quests daily or weekly to earn reward points as well as a few digital purchases via the PS Store here and there, you’ll be claiming that free store credit before you know it. I have already claimed £20 credit and now I’m working towards my next one.

To make sure that gamers don't miss out on the free credit, Redditor BoTheJoV3 has given fellow users on the forum a kind reminder. “Remember to make use of your PS Stars points,” they said. “I'm upset that I didn't start using PS Stars until months ago. I'm not sure when this started, but I would've had so many points by now,” replied Apprehensive_Cause67. “Thanks for reminding me. I got $40 in credit now,” said a joyful luigismansion9000.
PlayStation Stars is very much inspired by Xbox Game Pass Quests, and if we can claim free money and other goodies by simply buying and playing the video games we love, it’s an all-win and no-lose situation, in my opinion.
