Eight free games can be yours to download and keep forever on Steam, and a bunch of the ones currently available actually look pretty damn good.
As always, thank you to the Twitter account Free Steam Games for finding all of the titles on this list!
Ok so, I want to start off with a bit of a weird one; Split Fiction - Friend's Pass. This allows you to play through the newly released Split Fiction with a friend, even if you don’t actually own the game.

The catch is that you have to know someone who does actually own Split Fiction for it to work, so it’s kind of half of a free game. Either way, 100% worth getting if you do know someone.
Pheonix 2 is our first proper free game. It’s a shoot ‘em up, bullet hell, so not much to say about this one beyond the fact that the reviews are very positive. Currently sitting at “Very Positive” score, with 90% of the reviews being positive.
War Robots: Frontiers is next up, and this one is a real mixed bag. It’s a free-to-play mech game that currently has a “Mixed” score. Reviewers on Steam say it looks incredible and it’s fun to play, but the P2W mechanics kind of ruin the whole experience.
Dwarfs Delight looks like a bit of a Gang Beasts clone, but it’s a little too early to say if it’s a good one or a bad one. No review consensus yet as the title is too fresh, but it looks relatively decent based on the trailer.

Here’s a weird one: Axios Football. Currently has a Positive score with 98% of the reviews being positive, but reading through them makes me think a lot of them are AI-generated. A few reviews are even clearly referencing a completely different game. Maybe give this one a miss.
HoloCall - Send Your Cheers! is a rhythm-action style game that’s taken inspiration from the HoloLive scene, and it’s got a pretty good review score. Currently sitting at a “Positive” rating with 92% of the reviews being positive. It’s basically Guitar Hero with anime Twitch streamers, so make of that what you will.
Bloodline is a Metroidvania game that looks a little on the basic side, but you get what you pay for I guess. No review consensus, but looks pretty inoffensive to me.
And finally, I’ve left the best for last: DashFire. I think this one looks like an absolute blast honestly. It’s like an old-school arena shooter in the style of something like Quake, but it's got a professional-looking polish to it. Currently sitting at a Positive score, with 92% of the reviews being positive.

Personally I’ll be giving DashFire a go myself, but there are at least three games on here that look half decent to me. Keep your eyes peeled for another post like this in the coming days, because these free Steam titles just keep on coming.
