Sony recently announced an upcoming redesigned slimmer PlayStation 5, a new model that follows their usual release plans of updating the console a few years after release.
The PS5 'Slim' was slated for a November launch but Sony PlayStation has stayed tight-lipped about the exact date. Well, as it seems to happen continually in the world of video games, the date has seemingly leaked and we're looking at a launch date of 10 November for North America.
The PlayStation 5 'Slim' disc drive is modular and can be removed.

There will be two models on sale; a base model PS5 slim, which includes a disc drive, and the new Digital PS5 which comes without the disc drive. These are planned to be priced at $499.99 and $449.99 respectively, with a stand being sold for $29.99 that allows the console to stand vertically. It is worth noting that the disc drive will be available separately and can be added to a Digital PS5 for $79.99.
This leak comes with extra news. A new PS5 bundle appears to include Marvel's Spider-Man 2, priced at $559.99. This bundle will capitalise on the release of one of the hottest PS5 games, and will feature the base model, rather than the digital version. It was stated by the original leaker however, that the Marvel's Spider-Man 2 bundle could launch on 8 November, so perhaps the release will be staggered.
If you have any console covers for your original PS5, these won't be compatible with the new slimmer model.
