On 28 August, the renowned game designer retweeted an image of him testing out a new game, a title which many are saying is Death Stranding 2: On the Beach.
While it makes the most sense that it’s the sequel on his screen, let’s not forget that Kojima is also working on a new IP.
That being said, many believe this to be one of the first PlayStation 6 title rather than one destined for the PS5 Pro.
This isn’t what’s got them so riled up, though, it’s the concealed hardware on Kojima’s desk that’s at the centre of discussions.
Kojima is clearly playing a PlayStation of some kind; however, people believe it has to be the yet to be unveiled PS5 Pro – why cover it up if it isn’t?

“What’s covered up to the right?” asked user Loonchie Sky on Twitter, to which others replied that it’s the “PS5 Pro devkit”.
From there a string of posts have appeared across social media that further draws attention to this concealed piece of tech.
Despite some claiming it’s just a PC being used with a PS5 controller, the majority believe this is yet more proof that the PS5 Pro’s release is imminent.
Do you think this is what Kojima is hiding in the photo? We certainly hope so, but we’ve been burnt before.
