PlayStation 5 fans can get their hands on a new RPG featuring all kinds of demon hunting.
You can roleplay as a detective solving mysteries in a world of demons via a demo that needs no PlayStation Plus subscription.

The Thaumaturge sees players wandering around 1950s Poland wielding all kinds of supernatural powers.

It’s an isometric RPG where combat is turn-based, bookended by deep conversations and dialogue choices.
This is the game’s debut on the PlayStation 5 and to celebrate, the developers are letting fans get their hands on the game a little early with a decent demo to show off what you can expect.
Some of the demons here are properly gnarly and a little creepy, so if you’re looking for an adventure filled with gruesome beasts, you might want to give this a shot.
While I’ve not played it myself, word has been positive, and reviews were glowing when the game dropped on PC earlier this year.

What’s not to like? The Polish setting gives it a rich historical backdrop - you’ll get to meet several historical figures on your journey - while the RPG mechanics can keep you on your toes.
And who doesn’t love a slobbering demon? With a detective story at its core, The Thaumaturge has been compared to brilliant titles such as Disco Elysium due to it’s esoteric and deep story.
Created in Unreal Engine 5, it looks utterly stunning and will become a ‘must-play’ title for PS5 once fans get their hands on it.
I’m loving the idea that the protagonist can bend others to their will by using powers of suggestion - this sounds like a great mechanic to tip the scales in your favour during conversations.

The demo is available now and full game will be available very soon, though a firm date is yet to be announced.
