Another PlayStation 5 console update has arrived and with it, we find lots of stability, along with one feature that everyone is going to want to check out.
Among the patch notes for the new console update is a helpful little tip that everyone should pay attention to as it fixes an issue that’s been around for ages.
PlayStation once embraced handhelds and many hope that the Portal sees them embrace them once again
One of the notes reads, “In Remote Play, if the persistent message "Remote Play connected." is displayed during Remote Play, you can now hide this on your game screen. Go to Settings > System > Remote Play and turn on Hide Remote Play Connection Status.”

This warning message has been the bane of remote play user’s lives and it’s a frustrating fixture as it couldn’t previously be hidden. Now it’s as simple as clicking an option to hide it.
Over on Reddit, the top comment under the new patch notes is an expression of joy at this change, “They took away that stupid remote play banner finally.”
You can read through the full patch notes, but there aren’t many changes or new additions outside of the Community Game Help videos, and a buttload of “software performance” and “stability.”
As someone who uses remote play often (because I’m lazy and love to play games in bed) that constant message was incredibly annoying.

A big factor for its removal would be the PlayStation Portal which is Sony’s ‘remote play machine’ allowing PlayStation 5 users the option of playing their games remotely through a swish little handheld.
The remote play option has always been popular ever since the PlayStation Vita, but it’s being used even more nowadays with smartphone and tablet apps that allow you to stream your games to a separate device.
Make sure you change this setting before your next play session.
