Oftentimes, it’s places like Reddit that will showcase the finer details of console hardware, usually better than the actual developers.

The operating systems and software features built in are filled with little options that can make for a better overall experience, and the PlayStation 5 has myriad tweaks since the most recent update.

You can take advantage of recent software updates on your PlayStation

In the latest console update, Sony implemented a welcome screen tab that collects a bunch of widgets that allow for a quick glance at the system’s important features.

Here, you can see your friends, your trophies, even the amount of storage you have left on your SSD.

One member of Reddit has discovered “how to get the 3 minimum Widgets to be on the bottom (instead of locked on the left side) of the new PS5 Welcome screen.”

In their post, they break down how to take advantage of the new setup.

Essentially, Sony only allows a minimum of three widgets, and they’re all locked to the left-hand side of the screen.

You can get them all to shift to the bottom, instead, you just have to follow some simple steps.

“With minimized Widgets, by enabling a total of nine, including the three that you want and six random ones. Then what you can do is move, with Square [button], the three that you want on the bottom of each of the three rows,” explains iiEco-Ryan3166.

This is just the first step. It’s the next bit you want to focus on to get the screen looking swish.

“Then when you're done, just disable the ones that you don't want, continues the walkthrough.”

Once this is complete, all three widgets you’ve chosen will be on the bottom, instead of off to the side.

It’s a handy tip if you want your PlayStation set up to your specific tastes.
