God of War: Ragnarök descended upon us at the end of last year, and blew pretty much every other 2022 game out of the water during awards season. And rightly so - it’s a phenomenal game.
Ragnarök is the second ‘Norse era’ game, with the first being 2018’s God of War. Before that, we had a total of seven titles which formed the Greek era, which of course commenced with God of War (2005). As it stands, God of War III Remastered is the only game from the Greek era that you can actually buy from the PlayStation Store on PS4 and PS5, which makes playing through those classic games incredibly difficult for anyone who doesn’t have an older console to hand.
Take a look at this super nostalgic God of War demake in action below.
Needless to say, veteran fans of the series are desperate for an easier way to play through their old favourites, and obviously, it’s in everyone else’s interest to get them on modern consoles, too. I mean, who doesn’t want to kick more butt as Kratos?

“I really wish Santa Monica would release a complete collection of the Greek era God of War games for the PS5,” Reddit user gladiator19237 wrote.
Others are fully on board: “That would be epic, I love the GoW Greek saga and it would be a great opportunity for new PS5 gamers to experience them without streaming and with new enhancements,” MinasTeo agreed. “Not even asking a remake treatment to be honest. Just slap that PS3 HD collection to 4K 60fps and we good,” KameraLucida added. “I wouldn't be surprised if there's a plan to remaster/port the Greek era and have it launch around the time of the God of War show,” TattedUpSimba speculated.
