Yesterday’s Nintendo Direct was full of surprises, some good, some disappointing, but none as weird a FromSoftware game as a Nintendo Switch 2 exclusive.
That’s right; the studio behind Dark Souls, Bloodborne and Elden Ring is releasing an exclusive Nintendo Switch 2 game that many are calling an unofficial Bloodborne 2.
Take a look at The Duskbloods below.
As a FromSoftware fan, this seriously took me by surprise. I mean who in their right mind would have expected FromSoftware and Nintendo to ever be in the same sentence together? What’s crazier is Elden Ring is coming to the Nintendo Switch 2, unreal.

Now that the dust has settled a bit though, and news broke that it’ll be a multiplayer-focused game rather than a single-player story, fans are less surprised and more-so amused by the whole thing.
“Nintendo Exclusive. Freaking bonkers,” said one FromSoftware fan on Reddit, with another adding, “Genuinely insane if this is exclusive to Nintendo. The madlads.”
One user commented: “Not only is it apparently a multiplayer title, the trailer highly suggests it uses premade characters like Nightrein too. Miyazaki has shown interest towards multiplayer titles like Tarkov some years back. I assume this is a result of his new direction.”
Others simply couldn’t help comparing the game to Bloodborne, with one saying they “can’t believe we’re getting Bloodborne 2 as an exclusive for the Switch 2".

“NGL, I really thought this was a tie-in to Bloodborne. Has all the DNA of the world of Yharnam, familiar locations, and the voice of Mickolash,” added another.
All eyes are on PlayStation now, as people have been begging the company to do something with the Bloodborne IP for years only to get radio-silence on the matter.
With what’s essentially a spiritual successor to FromSoftware’s lovecraftian soulsborne title coming to the Nintendo Switch 2, you’d imagine PlayStation is wishing it’d greenlit that remaster now…
