The Witcher 3 just got bigger

Just when you thought that The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt couldn't get much bigger and better, it just has thanks to this free download.

Originally released in 2015 for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, CD Projekt RED’s The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt almost instantly became one of the best fantasy RPGs of all time and that was long before its free new-gen update in 2022.

Since that time, CDPR has gone on to create another critically acclaimed RPG (though admittedly it had a very rocky start) with Cyberpunk 2077. Now, we not only have The Witcher 4 to look forward to but the original game in the series is getting an Unreal Engine 5 remake.

However, we’re years away from the two new Witcher games, thankfully, The Witcher 3 in its own right still has enough content to keep us busy. That being said, thanks to the modding community, whether it's visual and gameplay improvements or new content, they continue to breathe new life into the games we love.

One such mod created by amasii called ‘Of Kings and Killers - Quest Expansion’ available to download now for free via Nexusmods does exactly what it says on the tin.

“Of Kings and Killers is a quest mod in which you hunt down a Witcher assassin being trained by the King of Wild Hunt, Eredin himself,” reads the description of the expansion.

Created using CDPRs REDKit software, ‘Of Kings and Killers’ not only adds a new quest to The Witcher 3, but also new Deathlord armour as well as a legendary “Witcher vs. Witcher” boss fight, and more.

Sadly, despite the new-gen version of The Witcher 3 incorporating some community mods into the update, ‘Of Kings and Killers’ is exclusive to the PC version of the game.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is out now on PC, PlayStation, Xbox and Nintendo Switch.
