CD Projekt RED is quietly beavering away on the next instalment in The Witcher trilogy, but it’s still likely a long way off.
While it’s colloquially being referred to as The Witcher 4 and will indeed follow on from The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, that’s not its official title.
In fact, the next game will kickstart a brand new trilogy supposedly led by a new protagonist.

Whether that means a lead who’s wholly new or an existing side character like Ciri, we don’t know.
With all of that in mind, we’re in a bit of a content drought but I have just the thing to keep us occupied.
‘The Illusionist’s Curse’ is a brilliant fan-made quest mod that’s well worth downloading if you’re a PC user.
ICYMI: The Witcher has already dropped its first season four tease, showing Liam Hemsworth’s Geralt in action.
Created by NexusMods user dragoncat2129, ‘The Illusionist’s Curse’ was created with the somewhat recently launched REDkit modding tools.

It centres around a mysterious curse placed upon a brand new character known by the name of Frederick.
It features three main quests, two possible endings - adding that all important replayability - and you’ll get to encounter four new characters in total.
The creator goes on to tease that it also features plenty of bespoke cutscenes and “a fun maze”.
Once downloaded, the mod will activate at the same time as the Blood and Wine DLC.

‘The Illusionist’s Curse’ is actually an entry in the ongoing REDkit modding contest in which entrants can win a NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4080, Dyenamik Witcher merch, Insert Coin Witcher merch, or gaming accessories from Razer.
The contest has been open for quite some time but closes soon on 14 October.
All in all, this particular mod looks like a great little bonus adventure - and I know what I’ll be diving into tonight.
I wish the best to the modder’s creator as the competition commences judging very soon.
