Star Wars meets Skyrim in this astounding open-world RPG overhaul

A very different Skyrim playthrough ...

As per usual, The Elder Scrolls VI’s development status remains a complete mystery.

And while you’ve likely grown tired of my directing your attention back towards The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim in the meantime, I can assure you that you’ve never seen Skyrim quite like this.

This isn’t a simple quality of life improvement, nor an overhauled location to explore.

Star Wars Redux 2022’ is a conversion mod that infuses Bethesda’s iconic high fantasy experience with a sci-fi flavouring.

Admittedly, this mod has been around for a couple of years so you may have stumbled across it before, but if you haven’t, well, it’s definitely worth trying out - especially before TES VI arrives to steal your attention.

Created by NexusMods user pande4360, ‘Star Wars Redux 2022’ essentially allows you to become a Jedi or a Sith, depending on how good or evil you’re feeling.

ICYMI: Andor returns for its second season next month, debuting three episodes a week.

This isn’t a simple reskin of the playable character though.

‘Star Wars Redux 2022’ replaces CW soldiers with Stormtroopers and Stormcloaks with Rebels, and there are three to five different skin types for both.

New droids have been added to the game, plus you can make use of five Star Wars-themed firearms weapons, including a Tusken Rifle.

There are also new melee weapons, including the likes of the Purgetrooper Electrostaff and the Z6 Stun Baton, as well as lightsabers, of course.

Yes, lightsabers will be able to block blaster shots, and in the game’s wider world, you’ll now find the Death Star in place of the moon.

The mod has been downloaded thousands of times by satisfied recipients, so allow me to share some of their testimonies.

“You’re awesome for this,” remarked heavenly2k.

“This mod is absolutely incredible,” added NenMagem.

If it’s an authentic Star Wars experience you’re after, don’t forget that Star Wars Outlaws’ second story pack, ‘A Pirate’s Fortune’, is due to be released soon.

While an exact release date is yet to be announced, Ubisoft previously confirmed a window of Spring 2025.

In the meantime, perhaps an overhaul of Skyrim is just what’s needed.
