Resident Evil fans have always feasted well. If Capcom isn’t releasing a brand new entry, then it certainly feels like they’re releasing a remake instead.
In 2019, Resident Evil 2 landed - a fantastic remake of the 1998 classic. As I’m sure you’re aware, the story centres around Leon S. Kennedy and Claire Redfield as they attempt to escape Raccoon City after the city finds itself overrun by zombies.
We’ve since had remakes of Resident Evil 3, Resident Evil 4, and the latter’s Separate Ways DLC.

It’s unknown exactly what will follow next. It’s assumed that we’ll receive a brand new entry in the form of Resident Evil 9.
When the next remake does roll around, Resident Evil - Code: Veronica is the most in demand from fans.
For now, we’ll have to sit tight until Capcom unveil their plans.
In the meantime, I do have something juicy you can check out though. One fan has totally overhauled Resident Evil 2’s (2019) graphics making an already fantastic remake feel like a totally new game.

The ‘Visualaiz Natural Photorealistic Horror Reshade Preset (DOF)’ mod is the work of NexusMods user yalzalds28.
“Bring back the chills in Resident Evil 2 Remake with this beautiful Reshade preset. Natural, atmospheric and photorealistic with subtle cinematic depth of field,” reads the description.

As for exactly what the mod entails, yalzalds28 has adjusted the overall look to feel “less vibrant” while maintaining a natural photorealistic finish.
The edges have been made cleaner whilst shadows have been made darker, making for a slightly more intense experience.
Creator yalzalds28 also made subtle adjustments to the depth of field. Take a look at the mod in action below.
The mod is totally free to download from NexusMods if you’re a PC user.
