I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but Grand Theft Auto VI may not arrive on PC until 2027.
The GTA VI trailer has finally arrived, ahead of schedule too. After a grainy version of the trailer was leaked on social media, Rockstar Games was somewhat forced into dropping the HD version hours before its intended premiere. Already, it’s broken several viewing records including one set by MrBeast. Fans are blown away by the game’s incredible graphics and sense of humour. Even if you’ve watched the trailer 50 times, I implore you to take a look at our 12 details you’re likely to have missed. One thing the trailer did confirm is the game’s release window of 2025. PC users shouldn’t expect to play GTA VI that year though.
ICYMI: Take a look at the new GTA VI trailer below.
It’s been confirmed that in 2025, GTA VI will be coming to new-gen consoles PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. This is no great surprise. In the past, GTA PC releases have always come at a later date. Back when GTA V was released, it came to PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in September 2013. It didn’t arrive on PC until April 2015.
Advert
If you look even further back, both GTA IV and GTA: San Andreas received delayed PC releases. Given how much has changed in the decade since GTA V was released, many fans assumed that Rockstar would simply release all editions at once this time around but that’s clearly not the case. If we’re to go off GTA V’s release cycle then, GTA VI’s PC version could land in 2027.
This, of course, isn’t guaranteed. Rockstar is yet to comment on a PC edition but GTA VI’s reveal seems to mirror previous Rockstar Games reveals, leading us to believe its release will also fall into familiar patterns.
