Fallout: Revelation Blues gets surprise release, you can download now

The cancelled project has been brought back to life

It is always sad to remember that we could have had more Fallout content if Black Isle’s cancelled Fallout 3 game hadn’t met the fate it did.

However, it is not all doom and gloom as thanks to one creator, we can now experience a recreation of the cancelled game and better yet, it is completely free to download.

Check out the trailer for Fallout: New Vegas below!

Created within Fallout: New Vegas, Fallout Revelation Blues is a brand-new mod featuring a demo set in the playable area of Burham Springs.

As a remake of Van Buren, the code-name for the cancelled Fallout 3 project, the description provided by modder United West Team goes into a bit more detail about what happened with the original development team.

“With a shortage of staff and strict budgets in place the game was slated to be released in 2003.

At this point much of the game had gone through heavy revisions and with entire areas, side quests and NPCs cut.

But regardless of how much was done the game would never come out.

Interplay finally went bankrupt and Van Buren along with other titles in the works would be cancelled indefinitely.

Some time would pass on and the IP would be bought by Bethesda who would create their own version of Fallout 3, leaving Van Buren lost and forgotten in time.”

However, this faithful adaptation aims to bring the cancelled project back to life.

In this demo of Burham Springs, players will be able to experience the brand-new area, complete with new weather, assets, levels, and an eye-catching environment.

It will also feature some familiar faces such as the Brotherhood of Steel, Powder Gangers, and the New California Republic.

“A small mining town that was once under NCR control, now abandoned due to a terrible incident,” the description reads.

“You, the player, will be able to explore the ruins and have the story unfold before you.

Meet with the last few locales who are every bit on edge and possibly insane. Find treasures and secrets buried away under the sand and rock of the ashy canyon.

It's yours to claim, but at what cost?”

So if you are eager to get a taste of the cancelled Fallout 3 game, this free download will be the perfect way to do so.
