Pokémon TCG Pocket has been going from strength to strength ever since it released, garnering millions of fans.
One appealing feature that was teased from launch day was the chance to trade cards with friends, but now the feature is here, Pokémon fans are not happy with it.
Trading is now available in Pokémon TCG Pocket
This furore boils down to how the trading function has been implemented.

Essentially, to trade cards, you need to ‘sell’ cards to the system to earn trade tokens, meaning you’ll need to get rid of high value cards to earn more tokens.
For example, a player will have to ‘sell’ five EX cards in order to trade just one EX card to a friend.
In a Reddit post calling out the developers of the game, hurtbowler said, “It's just frustrating. The greed is just so excessive.”
They went on to call the implementation “insulting” to players.

Another Redditor commented, “I understand they want to keep people from creating bots and exploiting the system, but this is currently absurd.”
Personally, I’m a big fan of Pokémon TCG Pocket, but I’ve come to the realisation that I’ll never complete a card collection.
This new trading system isn’t going to help me, or a lot of other players.
“You sell a game as a trading card game, and you literally can't trade s**t,” said BayoAkaThanos.

Another user expresses their frustration with, “Seriously, this was one of the worst flops I've ever seen on a mobile game.”
The sentiment is that players will have to spend more money to gather the cards that will only end up being ‘sold’ in order to gather resource tokens for trading, which is counter-intuitive.
As an update that was meant to unite the community through working together, it’s just not going to work that way.
As siraquakip says, “I wanna help some friends out, but it’s also gonna cost ME a lot of cards. Not just the one I’m trading them, but 20-25 OTHER cards.”
