Nintendo is indeed making a new hardware announcement this month, though Nintendo Switch 2 supporters are going to be disappointed it seems.
The Nintendo Switch 2, or whatever the Switch’s successor will be named, feels like some legendary artefact that no one can quite prove exists or not, and God knows Nintendo isn’t giving anything away either.

It’s been said that a select few individuals were given the opportunity to touch the next Nintendo console, but not see it with their own eyes, and aside from potentially leaked specs we have no idea what it could be like.

Recently there were rumblings amongst insiders that a first-look at the console would be coming this month, but that appears to have changed following a new claim.
Billbil-kun, a prominent leaker in the Nintendo community, recently said the hardware announcement coming later this month will not be the Nintendo Switch 2, it’ll actually be a new Nintendo Switch bundle.
The bundle will apparently be a Nintendo Switch OLED with a copy of Super Mario Bros Wonder.
One of the last OLED bundles was a special edition variant themed after Super Mario, sporting a red design and some delightful easter eggs alluding to the plumber’s long history.

This bundle will seemingly be the base model though with no fancy design choices or notable features, along with a standard copy of the game.
I’m sure that’ll be a disappointment to many, but there’s still a chance the Nintendo Switch successor could still be announced during the next few months.
If it does get announced though the release date will likely be some time in 2025, as it’ll probably be too late in the year to get the console ready for the holiday season.
