Why can we never have the nice things we're promised? Technically, some of us gamers did get to experience the Hogwarts Legacy DLC as intended the moment of release, but for the rest of us, we’ve had to wait.
And wait. And apparently wait some more because the free DLC has been “delayed”. We’re not mad, we’re just extremely disappointed.

The free DLC was meant to be released this month, a decision that nobody was thrilled about after realising PlayStation players got the DLC last year, but we were grateful to finally get a shot at it. After all, this DLC has been described as “terrifying”, so it’s a must play for many.
Yet, Hogwarts Legacy ‘Haunted Hogsmeade’ isn’t going to be released as planned after all. In fact, we’re going to have to wait until “summertime” to play it. Cue outrage from numerous fans whose patience has been tested to its limits.
“They already got the money from Sony for keeping it exclusive + Xbox/PC/Switch fans who bought the game,” said one bitter fan, before adding “It doesn’t matter now.” Others explained that the devs could “unlock” the DLC right now, they’re just choosing not to.
The magic of Hogwarts Legacy is still there, waiting for you to unlock it and write its next tale
However, some dispute this, saying “Exclusive console content is not normally within the files of a game on other consoles or PC, as that would defeat the purpose of a console version having exclusive content.”

They continued, “Think of it like the Soulcalibur series back in the day when each console had a unique character that was not available on the others. There was no coding for the other characters in versions they were not meant to be present in. So, no, it's not as simple as unlocking it and they do need to prepare the files for the port.”
Knowing this, though, doesn’t make the blow of the DLC being delayed any easier to cope with. We’ve waited long enough for one of the best missions of the entire game – it’s about time we had our chance to experience it first hand.
Hogwarts Legacy ‘Haunted Hogsmeade’ has been delayed for Switch, Xbox, and PC until summer.
