Recent news that Warner Bros. Games has cancelled plans for a major DLC expansion for Hogwarts Legacy, has fans of the game fearful of the future.
Late last year, Warner Bros. announced that a sequel was in the works for Hogwarts Legacy, and after many months of updates, the community was thrilled to hear the game would continue on.
Hogwarts Legacy on PC now has official mod support, perhaps in lieu of DLC
However, Warner Bros. - you know, the multi-billion dollar company - recently canned a Wonder Woman game that had been in production for years, and has now axed future Hogwarts Legacy content.

If baffles the mind, really, especially when the company recently noted that they would focus on creating “great games,” despite closing three successful game studios.
Harry Potter fans, on Reddit, gathered together to express their fears for the future of the franchise.
“WB Games is apparently run by people who wouldn't know what a good game was if they saw it,” expressed one frustrated fan.
This from a thread where OwnAHole stated, “I've got a bad feeling about the sequel now.”

I would too, seeing as the executives at Warner Bros. obviously have no idea what will make them money and are seemingly fumbling around in the dark, hoping that lightning strikes them.
Considering the executive team wanted to focus on profitability, you’d think Harry Potter would equal money in their eyes.
“Their CEO has no clue how to manage any of their IPs,” said sebastianqu.
Another Redditor expressed their frustration, saying, “Hogwarts Legacy is literally the one genuinely successful game they've had in what... 2 years? 3? And the idiots want to strangle it.”

Some are holding out hope that the DLC was cancelled so that the development team can focus on the sequel, but it’s understandable that others are worried.
Fans will be hoping that Warner Bros. shows the sequel soon, then they can rest easy it will arrive.
