As the wait for GTA VI drags on, fans have taken it upon themselves to make GTA V look as photorealistic as possible, so much so that it’s starting to look better than Rockstar’s upcoming game.
We’ve only seen one trailer for GTA VI, and unfortunately it lacked actual gameplay but the developer has assured its fans that the cutscenes being played were done in-engine.

Admittedly it looked quite good, but of course you need to go hands-on with the game before jumping to any conclusions, as while a game could look drop-dead gorgeous it doesn’t mean it plays well.

GTA V is still a game that plays well, and thanks to mods on the PC version it can be unbelievably realistic, some could argue too realistic.
Check out one of Digital Dreams latest videos and you’ll see what we mean, as it boasts a version of GTA V that’s near unrecognisable to the original.
With maxed out settings it’s the definition of new-gen, with the most impressive part of the gameplay being just about anything recorded in the evening. This is because the lighting has received an overhaul, so the dark is actually dark making the light from street lamps, vehicles and buildings pop that little bit more.
The daytime driving is also fantastic, and the enhanced visuals make those Los Santos sunsets really stand out whilst you’re on your travels.

If GTA VI looks nearly half this good we’re bound to be in for one of the best games of all time.
That being said, even if it’s not that good looking we'll only have to wait until Rockstar Games drops the PC port, upon which the modders will descend upon Vice City and give us similar results to the Digital Dreams video.
GTA VI is scheduled to release sometime in 2025, though Rockstar is yet to let the official launch date slip.
