Diablo IV fans are seriously unhappy with the game’s latest free update, to the point that many are uninstalling the game for good.
There’s no doubt that Diablo IV got off to a fantastic start - as it stands, it’s Blizzard Entertainment’s fastest-selling game of all time. It managed to hit a very apt $666 million in sales in just five days, in turn surpassing the amount of money that the free-to-play mobile game, Diablo Immortal, managed to earn in a full year.
Take a look at the trailer for Diablo IV below.
Tomorrow (20 July) Diablo IV’s first season, Season of the Malignant, will commence, but ahead of that, the 1.1.0a update has been rolled out on all platforms. As DualShockers reports, the lengthy patch notes were full of nasty surprises, and many fans believe that the changes are going to make the game feel more grindy than ever before. On top of that, the Sorcerer class has, for some baffling reason, been nerfed, when it was already widely considered to be the worst one.

On Reddit, fans have been expressing their frustration: “Already uninstalled and went back my backlog until Baldur’s Gate 3 drops,” jermz89 wrote. “I put 70 hours into it, $1 per hour. Meh could have been worse, but seriously f**k Blizzard, uninstalling this s**t today. I'm a very casual player and these patch notes are god awful,” DirkLimpwood commented. “Yeah, going to stop for awhile. The problem is I liked the game, and now they made me dislike it. It sucks losing something you enjoyed due to bad decisions out of your control,” added Needs_More_Gravitas.
Yikes. It remains to be seen if the fanbase will crawl back if Blizzard makes the appropriate changes in the future, but for now, excitement for the first season seems to be at an all-time low
