A sequel concept for Cyberpunk 2077 has been made in Unreal Engine 5, starring a beloved character from the Cyberpunk 2077: Edgerunners anime.
While CD Projekt Red will continue to support Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty for the time being with patch updates, it’s now content with leaving the game behind, following months of dedicated work, and $120 million, to fix all the problems it had at launch.

It all paid off in the end too, as Cyberpunk 2077 2.0 is now regarded as one of the greatest games ever made, and is on track to beating The Witcher 3 in sales.
Now though, CD Projekt Red is looking to the future, as a full-on sequel is in the works, though they’ve made it clear that it’s a long way off from release, much to fan satisfaction, who wholeheartedly believe Cyberpunk 2077 needed way more time in the oven prior to its launch.
While we likely won’t see anything about the Cyberpunk 2077 sequel for a long, long time, some fans have already gotten to work creating concepts for what they think it could look like, and one trailer made through Unreal Engine 5 is blowing us away.
Shared on the Unreal Concepts YouTube channel, the trailer is two minutes long and features long shots of the illuminated neon streets of what’s likely Night City. It also replaces V and Johnny Silverhand as the protagonist, and Cyberpunk 2077: Edgerunners fans will be thrilled with the selection.

That’s right the concept trailer makes Lucy from the Edgerunners anime the main protagonist, and pitches a story that takes place a year after the show’s conclusion.
Honestly it’d be great to see a sequel to Cyberpunk 2077 focus on a character from the wider universe, though whether that’s on the cards at CD Projekt Red is another question.
