Yesterday was an important day in the yearly calendar - it was International Women’s Day! It’s a day of celebration and an opportunity to take stock of all the incredible women in your life, whether those be friends and family, or perhaps even fictional women that inspire you.
Here at GAMINGbible, we celebrated the occasion by talking to Fortnite streamer Loeya about what it’s like to be a woman breaking stereotypes in gaming and what she hopes to see from the industry in the future. We also compiled a list of some of gaming’s greatest female characters. It’s not exhaustive though - there are simply too many options. Xbox Game Pass decided to join in the fun by creating a ‘Powerful Women’ category of games. The thing is, that category starred Peppa Pig. Weird.
Aloy is undeniably one of the coolest female characters out there, and the release of Horizon Forbidden West: Burning Shores is just around the corner. Take a look at the trailer below.
As spotted by Reddit user Lunarbutt, My Friend Peppa Pig was spotted in the ‘Powerful Women’ category. I suppose technically Peppa is female and she does hold immense power over the children of the world and yet at the same time, she is also a pig - not a human. Other games featured included Mirror’s Edge, Monster Hunter Rise, Moonscars, and Mortal Kombat 11. As reported by GameRant, Cities: Skylines also made the list. Huh? Is the best you can do Game Pass?

Needless to say, people were a tad confused about the inclusion although they didn’t doubt Peppa’s power. Johnnyhustle joked, “Peppa is pretty powerful. Just ask my two year old,” while dirtyeippih added, “That pig has more power and status than most humans ever will.” Box_me_up said, “You don’t wanna f**k around and find out with Miss Peppa.”
In the world of PlayStation, the ‘Amazing Heroines’ collection included more apt choices such as the likes of Aloy, Frey, Ellie, Lara, Freya, and Kena.
