Thanks to an oddly cryptic message from a leaker, it sounds like we may have discovered one of the first launch games for the Nintendo Switch 2… well, if we can decipher what said leak actually means.
Thank you in advance to ComicBook's Tyler Fischer for the original story.
The Nintendo Switch 2 leaker Nash Weedle recently shared a tweet that merely consisted of some emojis, which immediately confused several of the people in the replies.

A fire symbol, a fleur-de-lis symbol, and the number two … and the people in the comments threw out some rather off-the-wall guesses.
Saints Row 2, Minecraft 2, Kingdom Come: Deliverance II and… Dragon Quest XII: The Flames of Fate? Ok, I’m not sure what that guy was cooking with the last one.
However, it’s more than likely that what Nash Weedle actually meant was Fire Emblem, and assumedly the two stands for the Nintendo Switch 2 (considering there’s already a second Fire Emblem game).
It’s not entirely unfeasible. I mean, the last Fire Emblem game we got was Fire Emblem Engage back in 2023, and the franchise has had yearly entries for a decade or so now, so we’re kind of due another one.

The Nintendo Switch 2 Direct is due to be held on 2 April.
However, I should point out that Nash Weedle has been a little bit inconsistent with their leaks. They’ve been on the money about some stuff, and less so about others, so this is one I’d personally take with a grain of salt.
On the plus side, there are fewer than two days until we find out either way. With the next Nintendo Direct set to drop on 2 April, we’ll likely get to see several of the games set to release for the Nintendo Switch 2 at launch.

And if the guy who commented Dragon Quest XII: The Flames of Fate is right, I’ll send him £5.
