When the competitive multiplayer hero shooter Overwatch was originally released in 2016, it quickly took the video game community by storm.
To this very day, it still garners a loyal, if not at times disgruntled fanbase. When questions were raised over its implementation of loot boxes, the deck of cards slowly began to tumble.

Overwatch 2 arrived in 2022 and it was supposed to be the series saviour. Sadly, in truth, it ended up being no more than a glorified update with a lack of promised features. Worst still, some of those promised features that did arrive, were monetised and as you can imagine, the community did not take it well. As a result, Overwatch 2 became the worst-reviewed game on Steam.

Well, Overwatch 2, we have some good news, because it is no longer the worst-reviewed game on Steam, at least at the time being, because NBA 2K24 is after that mantle!
So why is NBA 2K24 after that crown? As reported by CharlieIntel, there are reports of the PC port being packed with bugs and glitches with gamers having to contend with yet another poorly optimised game.
What’s more, the ‘new’ PC game is missing features found in the PS5 and Xbox Series X|S versions, practically making it an older version of the game. Currently, the PC port doesn't even have crossplay, the MyNBA mode is missing and you can’t have careers with WNBA players.
As such, NBA 2K24 is now battling it out with Overwatch 2 as the worst-reviewed game. At some point this week, NBA 2K24 was at the top of the Hall of Shame. However, as I write this article, Overwatch 2 has reclaimed its ill-prestigious place at the top of the charts.

According to the Steam Hall of Shame, Overwatch 2 has just 10% positive votes, while NBA 2K24 is a very close second with just 11%. We expect the number one and two spots will rotate often over the next several days or so.
Both Overwatch 2 and NBA 2K24 are available now for PC, PlayStation, Xbox and Nintendo Switch.
