A new game coming to Steam next month will be free to keep forever if you download it in the first 24 hours.
One of the frequently cited benefits of playing on PC comes down to price. If you're a gamer on a budget, using PC storefronts like Steam and Epic means you can find games going quite cheap after a while.
Both platforms also tend to run free game offers frequently too, whether that's just for a weekend or to keep indefinitely.
Considering the amount of games out there, that can be good or bad for your backlog depending on how you feel about it. I certainly have enough games in my account to last me a lifetime.

A new game is coming to Steam next month which will also be free to keep forever if you can redeem it within the first 24 hours of release.
Nubs!: Arena from Glowfish Interactive and Rangatang is a multiplayer brawler where up to 20 players compete to be the ultimate champion in a series of chaotic trials.
Considering it's being developed by ex-Awesomenauts developers, that should immediately raise interest.
The Steam store description reads:

"Stand out in the mayhem with a vast selection of outlandish outfits and eye-searing colors. With so many combinations, you’ll either look fearsome, funny, on-trend or completely ridiculous.
"Start with basic weapons, then scavenge the battlefield for upgrades. Crack open chests for better firepower, or claim weapons from defeated foes, after all, they won’t be needing them anymore."

Nubs!: Arena will launch on Steam on 15 May, 2025. It'll be free for the first 24 hours, so be sure to set your alarms accordingly if you're interested.
It's a smart move by the publisher to make such a game free for the first day of release.
Since Nubs!: Arena is a multiplayer game, its success will be entirely dependent on the number of players it can claim.
By making it free for a day, that gives the game a chance to build up an audience from the very beginning and should hopefully help it stand out from its peers.
