Steam drops 8 free games you can keep forever, no strings attached

This list probably has the best collection of freebies I've seen on Steam

You can currently snag eight free games on Steam for free, without the need for any kind of subscription or any kind of loophole to jump through.

As always, thank you in advance to the Free Steam Games Twitter account for their efforts collating all of these freebies.

I’m going to do this in order, working up to the best as the last entry, but don’t let that put you off the earlier titles. This is an oddly strong-looking list of free games.

First up: Napolitan Hotel, developed and published by JW Games. The reviews on this are positive, but it just comes off as a pretty basic-looking horror game to me. Still, free is free.

Next, we've got Creepy Crawling by publisher Lixeria Publishing. Not much to say about this one as there are no user reviews, but it looks like a straightforward little first-person horror game about spiders. Basically just looks like the last game but with spiders. You could do worse.

Full Manual Tower Defense by developer and publisher Individual is your next freebie. I'm kind of a sucker for tower defence games, but it looks like this one is entirely made up of basic stock assets. That's not a crime so the gameplay could be good, just letting you know what you're in for.

Midnight at the Disco is a "top down, roguelike, bullet putrgatory, twin-stick shooter" from developer and publisher Taphouse Games. Reviews are good and gameplay looks solid, could be worth a go if you're a fan of the bullet-hell genre.

Light Bearers 2, from developer and publisher Fat Bomb Studios, is a "fast paced hide and seek" title that has a 91% positive rating with roughly 50 reviews at the moment. It's a fun idea, kinda reminds me of an even family-friendlier version of Prop Hunt.

In Season from publisher The Strawfools legitimately looks great. It's a couch co-op game where you compete to plant the most crops, and it's got a very cute paper cut-out art style. This one gets a green thumbs up for me haha (sorry).

O.W.L. - One Wave Length from developer and publisher PRO//CYON. No consensus on this, but I'm gonna go out on a limb and say this one doesn't look half bad. It just looks like a cute little bullet hell game with rhythm action elements. Pretty high quality for a free game.

Here's a fun-looking one: Remanence from developer To Software and publisher DigiPen Institute of Technology.

It's a first-person Soulslike that was developed as a student project, and it looks pretty impressive all things considered. The team behind this might be worth keeping an eye on.

And that’s the whole list. Honestly, I’m kinda just going off vibes for most of these, but I gotta say… the majority of these look really solid for free titles.

I’m personally going to give O.W.L. - One Wave Length, In Season and Remanence a go myself, but I don’t think you can go wrong trying out anything on here.
