Horizon Forbidden West: Burning Shores was released yesterday exclusively for the PS5, and players are already saying it’s the ‘best-looking game ever’
The much-anticipated DLC for Horizon: Forbidden West has received an outpouring of positive feedback from both critics and fans of the Horizon series. Aside from the intriguing story beats that are presumably setting up a third game, fans believe that the newest update has significantly improved the already impressive visuals.
Horizon’s graphics have always been something to look at, with its vast open world teeming with character and colour, from lush greenery, clear waters, and an impressive render distance that places the whole environment into view.

Burning Shores seemingly makes those graphics even better, with the new in-game area becoming the best-looking part of the game by far. But that’s not all, players also believe the update has made the base-game look slightly better than it did before, with many drawing attention to the oceans in particular for looking nicer than usual.
The superior graphics are due to the decision by Guerrilla Games to make the Burning Shores DLC a PlayStation 5 exclusive, which caused some controversy amongst fans of the series.
Guerrilla’s decision to bypass the PS4 when developing Burning Shores will have enabled the team to push the boundaries of its graphical fidelity, by taking full advantage of the console's potential.

Responding to a post made by Erikwithak1990 on Reddit detailing some of the enhanced graphical changes, players agreed that it does look significantly better since the update dropped.
BLSR97 said: “As soon as I jumped into the game I noticed graphics were even more good than before. The DLC isn’t started for me yet, but I can see clouds improvement and better graphics overall. So hyped to see the rest!”
Chrishellmax added: “The render distance is much better as well. Can see more and farther than before. I noticed this in minecraft for ps5 is way better than ps4”
