The Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 September release date has apparently leaked on the interweb.
Back in March 2023, a September release window for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 from Insomniac Games was seemingly leaked by horror legend Tony Todd, best known for the Candyman movies. In the Spidey sequel, Mr Todd is the voice of Peter Parker's arch-nemesis, Venom.
“Looks like September! Massive publicity coming in August. Commercials start dropping in August so I’m told,” he wrote in a now-deleted tweet. “Hold on to your… and hold [your] breath! Gonna be necessary.”

While Sony hasn't outright confirmed a set release date for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, it is expected to release later this year. Given the fact that Tony Todd mentioned a September release date, and then deleted his tweet, it does seem like he may have accidentally leaked disclosed information.
What’s more, reputable video games journalist, Jason Schreier has also suggested that a September release date is likely. Schreier tweeted about Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, which recently suffered yet another delay.
In March 2022, developers of Kill the Justice League, Rocksteady Studios announced that the game would be delayed until Spring 2023. However, a recent PlayStation State of Play event showcased very underwhelming gameplay for the DC title and speculation soon ran rampant that it would be delayed, yet again.

It doesn't matter where the most recent gameplay aired that spawned from State of Play, it had suffered a heavy amount of downvotes on YouTube. In a statement announcing the recent delay, Rocksteady Studios might not have mentioned fan backlash was a reason, but it’s easy to put two and two together.

Going back on track to Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 release date, other than Kill the Justice League requiring added “polish”, Schreier also believes that a factor for the recent delay could be down to Spidey’s next adventure with Miles Morales being released in September this year.
Obviously, we should take all rumours and speculation with a pinch of salt until proven otherwise. That being said, Jason Schreier is about as reliable as it gets in this industry.

Hopefully Insomniac Games will show off some gameplay soon, because other than a cinematic trailer, we're yet to see actual gameplay of the sequel. Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 will be released exclusively for PlayStation 5.
