There’s a new Venom on the loose, and Marvel fans aren’t happy after his new host identity has been revealed.
Venom has had quite a few hosts over the years. Since his initial 1984 debut, the symbiote has taken Spider-Man, Eddie Brock, and Flash Thompson as human hosts.
With the current run of All-New Venom, Marvel Comics has teased a new human host for the character. While they haven’t been revealed yet, characters like Luke Cage and Rick Jones have been potential candidates.

Marvel Studios' Thunderbolts* is the next big MCU adventure coming 1 May.
Now, a new leak from the All-New Venom #5 comic seems to confirm the identity of Venom’s latest human host. As always with these types of leaks, take it with a pinch of salt. But we’ll also put up a spoiler warning here just in case.
A variant cover of All-New Venom #5, which isn’t released until this Wednesday, seems to confirm that Mary-Jane Watson will be revealed as Venom’s human host.

Yes, that’s right, Spider-Man’s love interest herself is suited up in the alien symbiote, causing all manner of mayhem.
That’s if the variant cover is to be believed, at least. Given that sounds like a pretty major spoiler to put on the cover, it’s possible this could be a bait-and-switch from Marvel.
Fans aren’t happy about this, with many of them claiming Marvel has run out of ideas with this storyline.

“I don’t think we’re coming back from this guys, this might be the worst era of Spider-Man comics in history,” wrote one comment on Reddit.
“Thanks, I hate it,” another comment wrote. “Actually, I hate the idea of MJ being a super hero altogether, in any incarnation.”
“I think the real story twist is gonna be the finer details involving the bond,” predicted another comment. “I personally adhere to the clone theory where Jackpot!MJ is a clone and Venom!MJ is the original. It's Marvel, want to fix something? Make it a clone.”
Time will tell if this twist ends up being good for the All-New Venom run or completely kills readers' interest.
