Marvel Comics is rebooting Amazing Spider-Man, one of its legacy titles that has been around for many years.
This relaunch will revitalise the lead comic book run of Spider-Man and usher in plenty of new stories and some surprising appearances.
Spider-Man fans have been spoiled by recent video game outings for the character.
The first issue of the new series will go on sale 9 April and feature a new artist in Pepe Larraz, who will join current writer Joe Kelly.

This is, according to Marvel, more of a “renumbering,” but it will be a great place for new fans to jump on and follow the adventures of Peter Parker.
Issue one will be a landmark release and feature several variant covers from classic Spidey artists including Ryan Stegman, Lee Bermejo, and Simone Di Meo.
The synopsis reads, “The new run finds Peter Parker without a job and looking for gainful employment, but his job search is interrupted by a rampaging Rhino who is but the tip of a sinister iceberg.”
At first, it sounds like business as usual, however, this run will bring back a “major villain” we haven’t seen for almost a decade.

One guess at this mysterious villain is Mendel Stromm who also goes by Robot Master.
Stromm was thought to have died seven years ago in Amazing Spider-Man Vol. 5 and the new synopsis mentions we saw this villain seven years ago.
Writer Joe Kelly spoke to Polygon about the new run, saying, “I’m fascinated by the internal lives of these characters and exploring new territory there - Peter’s youth is interesting.
The creator continued, “I spend a lot of time thinking about what I love about Spider-Man and his cast, what stories resonated with me at different times of my life, and how I can synthesise all of that into something that works with what came before but breaks new ground.”

It sounds like we’ve got some interesting, and perhaps very personal, stories coming up.
