This is a joyous day. Last year’s very best game is now available to download and play for free. No, I’m not talking about Elden Ring or God of War Ragnarök. I’m not referring to Stray or Xenoblade Chronicles 3 either. PlayStation Plus subscribers can now get their hands on, you guessed it, Horizon Forbidden West.
It’s been quite the haul this month for PlayStation Plus subscribers. Regardless of tier, all users can currently get their hands on OlliOlli World, Evil Dead: The Game, Destiny 2: Beyond Light and Mafia: Definitive Edition. I wouldn’t hesitate in picking up the excellent Mafia. In fact, some fans have branded it the best remake of all time. It’s premium and extra tier subscribers who are in for a real treat this month though.
Horizon Forbidden West is a treat for the eyes. Take a look below.
Horizon Forbidden West is now available to download as part of the extra tier catalogue, and it’s not one to miss. Guerrilla Games’ latest title was majorly overshadowed by Elden Ring back when it was released but if you ask me, Horizon Forbidden West offers 2022’s very best open world. If you loved the first game, Horizon Zero Dawn, the sequel wholly improves on its predecessor in every way.

It's a great time to catch up with the series seeing as Forbidden West’s first DLC, Burning Shores, will soon release in April. The expansion sees Aloy travel to the ‘untamed wilds of Los Angeles’ where she’ll encounter new characters and a new threat. The game follows on from Forbidden West so you do need to catch up if you want to dive in. Unfortunately, Burning Shores is a PS5-exclusive, whereas you can download Forbidden West on PS4 consoles.
Forbidden West isn’t the only game joining the extra/premium tiers this month. There are 17 games in total including The Quarry, Scarlet Nexus, Tekken 7, and Resident Evil 7 Biohazard. In other words, there’s a bit of something for everyone.
