Ever since I rolled credits on Horizon Forbidden West’s stellar Burning Shores expansion, I’ve been desperately awaiting news on what’s next.
It’s all but confirmed that a third and final entry in the franchise is on the way.
There may not have been a reveal as such from Guerrilla or Sony but we’ve seen enough job ads and allusions to the third instalment now to know that it exists.

It turns out that quite a few Horizon projects are on the way actually. Alongside the unannounced third instalment, rumours suggest that a LEGO Horizon game could be announced this summer.
Believed to be titled LEGO Horizon Adventures, the bricky take on one of Sony’s flagship IPs reportedly has a trailer ready and waiting to go.
There are also rumours of a Horizon multiplayer game - footage of which leaked quite some time ago - and an official remake of the first title with the game’s removal from PlayStation Plus fanning the flames of that rumour.
There’s also Horizon Forbidden West: Seeds of Rebellion, an upcoming co-operative tabletop adventure set before Aloy’s arrival in the Forbidden West.

We had the opportunity to go hands on with Seeds of Rebellion. Take a look below.
Seeds of Rebellion takes place during the early onset of Regalla’s rebellion, a rebel Tenakth leader that Forbidden West players will certainly be familiar with.
You’ll play as a Tenakth loyalist under the guidance of Chief Hekarro.

Alternating between combat encounters and narrative scenes, Seeds of Rebellion will see players go up against some ferocious machines whilst also dealing with Regalla’s rebellion and the Forbidden West’s Red Blight.
It’s totally accessible even if you’re not a tabletop gaming expert, I can attest from personal experience, with combat very much emulating the video game’s.
You’ll be able to attack using Aloy’s typical line-up of both melee and ranged weapons, plus you can set traps.
In our preview, I wrote, “If you’re a fan of Guerrila’s Horizon series, Seeds of Rebellion is a flawless extension of this world both in terms of lore and mechanics. Playing a board game may be very different to playing a video game and yet Seeds of Rebellion felt so familiar to me, and I know many other longtime franchise fans are certain to feel that way too. This game offers endless hours of fun and is most certainly one to keep an eye on.”
