If you’ve chosen to pick up Hogwarts Legacy, you’ll have been faced with a very important choice. Every student of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry is sorted into one of four houses and while the Sorting Hat can help you make that choice, the final decision lies with you and we now know which house has proved to be the most popular.
Speaking of popularity, Hogwarts Legacy is off to a flying start despite the controversy surrounding author JK Rowling’s transphobic comments. It’s already the most successful Harry Potter game of all time, selling 12 million copies in just two weeks. Fans have amassed over 267 million in-game hours, plus it’s rumoured that a Hogwarts Legacy TV adaptation may be in production. There’s one question on everyone’s mind though. Which house is the most popular?

As reported by GameRant, it’s been revealed that Slytherin is actually the most popular choice for players. On one hand, I’m surprised and on the other, I’m not at all. Gryffindor is perhaps the obvious option, seeing as it’s the house Harry, Hermione and Ron famously belong to. It’s not the most popular choice though. Maybe because players feel that they’re already familiar with the Gryffindor common room.

Hufflepuff actually features the best house-exclusive quest, so I thought that might work in its favour while Ravenclaw is considered to be the worst option in-game. I can only imagine that so many people are picking Slytherin as it’s known for fostering evil wizards and many fans are taking the game up on its offer of allowing them to be as evil as they’d like.
Already, players are finding some dark uses for Avada Kedavra. How do we know Slytherin is the most popular house? A higher number of players have unlocked the Slytherin-specific achievement trophy more so than any other house equivalent.
