Hogwarts Legacy is finally set to receive a major content update later this year. Admittedly, the game’s community manager has warned players to temper their expectations, but that hasn’t exactly dulled excitement.
As for what the update entails, that largely remains unknown. Xbox, Nintendo Switch, and PC users will gain access to the ‘Haunted Hogsmeade Shop’ quest which was previously a timed PlayStation exclusive.
It’s easily one of the best quests in the game and is well-worth checking out although be warned, it’s pretty spooky. Those mannequins are somewhat nightmare inducing.

Alongside this quest, devs have thus far simply teased various “updates” and “features” - two very vague words.
Whilst we await further news, fans have taken to compiling a list of everything they’re hoping to see announced and it looks as if they’re all on the same page.

Personally, I’d love to see a Diagon Alley expansion but I think I’m being a tad optimistic. It’s much more likely we’ll get, say, a photo mode.

Reddit user Various_Fake_Details has generated quite the response with their wish list, posted to the r/HarryPotterGame subreddit.
The wish list included students appearing in casual attire outside of Hogwarts’ grounds, shopkeepers and vendors hanging out within Hogsmeade outside of business hours, the option to have the main character sit, a pensieve to replay quests and cutscenes, an expanded Room of Requirement, classes as minigames, the ability to change seasons, and the ability to become an animagus.
I have to say, it’s a very plausible list - especially given what devs have already said about tempering expectations.
“I JUST WANT TO SIT. Also maybe a space and the ability to create a bedroom in the RoR,” added Ringadean while WhiteChickenYT wrote, “Change weather and photo mode are my wants.”

It’s just me being wildly unrealistic with my hope of a Diagon Alley expansion then?
I would also like to see an expansion of the Summoner’s Court and Crossed Wands mini-quests. That’s perhaps more likely.
As for when we can expect an update, Avalanche is yet to say but we are approaching Summer Game Fest. That would be a perfect time to drop a juicy new update, surely.
