Fans are concerned that Hogwarts Legacy could face yet another delay after a concerning update to its Steam page.
Hogwarts Legacy has been a long time coming. The wizarding world RPG has already been delayed multiple times - it was just last month that we got the news that the previous-gen console versions of the game (PS4 and Xbox One) were being pushed back until 4 April. For PS5, Xbox Series X/S and PC owners, things were still on track for the 10 February release date, but fans are now concerned that there could be trouble ahead for PC users.
Take a look at Simon Pegg introducing his Hogwarts Legacy character, headmaster Phineas Nigellus Black, below.
As highlighted on the r/HarryPotterGame subreddit, the game’s release date on Steam has changed from 10 February to simply “coming soon”, which seems very unusual so close to its intended release.

“I’m kind of freaking out,” wrote Senval-Nev. “I’ve been counting down the days until release but now I’m extremely concerned there will be a last-minute delay. I want and sort of need this game to release sooner rather than later.”
A peek using the Wayback Machine shows that this change was very recent - yesterday (12 January), the page still stated that the game will release on 10 February. At the time of writing, it’s not known what’s going on, but some Reddit users suggested that it could just be a bug. Given that the developers haven’t confirmed a further delay, this seems like the most likely reason, but we’ll just have to keep an eye on things.
If you’re already hyped up for the game and want to dive into the action as soon as possible, you can already get sorted into your Hogwarts house ahead of launch and carry it over into the game. Remember, if you’re planning on playing on PS5, your house colours will show on your DualSense controller, so if you absolutely hate the colour red for some reason, you might want to shy away from Gryffindor.

Assuming that no delays happen, there’s not too long to wait until release for PC and new-gen console owners. If you’re planning on playing on Switch, you’re going to be waiting some time, though - it’s going to be hitting Nintendo's console on 25 July.
