Hogwarts Legacy player makes a new discovery after hundreds of hours and multiple playthroughs.
While being a standalone story in its own right, being inspired by the Wizarding World, Hogwarts Legacy still offers as a prequel to the Harry Potter and Fantastic Beasts franchise, set during the late 1890s.
At this point with the amount of secrets and hidden details that players are discovering in the world of Hogwarts Legacy, you’d think it’s trying to compete with Bethesda’s Skyrim. However, this action RPG from Avalanche Software wasn’t released over a decade ago, it’s only been released just shy of five months.

The latest secret discovered by a player is being able to read the Daily Prophet. This is the newspaper that reports on all the gossip of the Wizarding World complete with magical, moving portrait pictures. An image that may come to mind from the Harry Potter movies is the infamous ‘Wanted’ mugshot of Sirius Black.
“After 4.5 replays, I realized you can read the Daily Prophet,” posted Redditor Panda3xpre55. “I can’t believe it’s taken me hundreds of hours to find out I can read the Daily Prophet.”

What’s more, a fellow Reddit user Loovy-Tomatillo-4685 elaborated on Panda3xpre55’s newly found discovery. “Not just that but some of the stories they post refer to things you might’ve seen in the open world,” they added. “For example, once it was about someone who was wanted for breeding basilisks in his chicken coop, and whilst on a mission I stumbled upon a man’s dead body surrounded by chickens and empty cages + with a note on him notifying him that he’s being investigated for basilisk breeding.”
Unfortunately, the user has not shared a clip or screenshot of where the Daily Prophet discovery was found, but when asked where it was discovered, they replied: “I know it was during one of the quests with Sebastian, I think the one where you trek up a [Shadow] Mountain with him, I can check tmr to find the exact location and get back to u.”
However, if it’s similar to the Daily Prophet vendor in Hogsmeade Village, you can read some of the newspapers there too as seen in the video below.
In recent Hogwarts Legacy news, a wanted system has been introduced and actual penalties can be issued for using dark magic.
