We really are on the final approach to Hogwarts Legacy. For PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC owners, the game is set to release on 10 February. If you’ve pre-ordered the Deluxe Edition, you’ll gain access on 7 February and the rest of you, well, you’ll have to wait a few months extra unfortunately.
We suspected that Hogwarts Legacy would boast a pretty big file size, but now we know exactly how much space we’ll need to make on our consoles. Really, we shouldn’t be surprised. Developers recently confirmed that it could take upwards of 120 hours to see all that Hogwarts Legacy has to offer. To give you an idea of scale, there are over 100 side quests. If you do end up picking up this game, I expect it’ll consume all of your time.

One Reddit user has received their Deluxe Edition PlayStation 5 copy early and taking to the site, they shared the exact file size of Hogwarts Legacy. They wrote, “Just received my Deluxe Edition a bit early! I won’t post any spoilers, just initial impressions and how the gameplay is. [...] The game is a whopping 85GB on PS5.” Oof. That is a big boy.
Advert
Admittedly, this puts Hogwarts Legacy pretty much on par with God of War Ragnarök. It’s become somewhat of a tradition that everytime a new AAA chonky game is released I’ll spend about 10 minutes staring at my library deliberating which title I can bear to part with.
In case you missed it, you don’t have to be a well-behaved wizard in Hogwarts Legacy. In fact, many fans are planning to be as devilish as possible. It’s possible to take a darker path and the game won’t punish you for it. I sense that fans are going to be comparing some drastically different playthroughs.
